The global mobile health market is tipped to increase by around 600% over the next 3 years¹. Physiotherapy and health services need to take into account how new technologies are continuing to shape service provision. It is essential that clients, staff and partners alike experience multiple technology based touch points in their interactions with your Practice. This ensures efficiency and promotes effectiveness but more importantly, creates loyal empowered fans to stamp your business as a leader in the health market.

    Presenters

Karen and Mark are crazy about technology, social media and digital gadgetry (see their profiles below). Sick of general resources, photocopied handouts, forlorn Facebook pages and paper patient diaries, they have made a commitment to lead their peers forwards, creating a truly connected healthcare industry.

Mark Merolli is founder and director of illorem. He is a physiotherapist and eHealth researcher, completing his PhD in participatory health and social media. As a practicing physio, he is able to ground his knowledge of health technology with practical clinical experience. During a stint living and practicing abroad in the United Kingdom for a few years, he spent time working at a digital media agency, specializing in online, print media and advertising. Working as part of the online marketing and sales team, Mark gained extensive training in social media, website management, search engine optimization, analytics, online marketing strategy and advertising. By doing this, he has been better able to conceptualize the online landscape and relate it back to his passion…..healthcare.

Karen Finnin graduated as a physiotherapist from LaTrobe University in Melbourne, Australia. She has nurtured her flair for business through practice ownership, health services contract management, and participation in business programs. In 2011, inspired by her time residing in remote areas, Karen launched Physios Online, Australia’s first entirely online, publicly accessible private Physiotherapy Practice. Physios Online specializes in providing telerehabiliation consultations to people in rural and remote areas. She has been an invited speaker for conferences by Health Workforce Australia, the Australian Physiotherapy Association and for the Australian Telehealth Conference. Karen is passionate about leveraging cloud based technologies to ensure that health related businesses are more efficient, effective and fun.
