APA Symposium 2014 – Social Media Workshop Recap

October 31st – Nov 2nd 2014 saw enthusiastic Australian physiotherapists converge on Cairns for the Business, Education and Leadership Symposium. This conference represented the best Australian physios had to offer and the sessions were jam packed with business acumen, educational issues and technology from passionate key notes and invited speakers.

Myself, Jackie Robertson, Troy Morgan, Karen Finnin and Nicky Jurd were involved in the social media session and content included: engaging responsibly using social media, developing a social media policy, Facebook for the new generation, developing an online professional presence, social media and beyond and creating a great clinic website.

We finished the day with a group workshop, where attendees came together to apply their new found knowledge to help a clinic/practice owner institute a social media marketing plan. As promised, I have synthesised the key content from the groups’ answers and made them and the scenarios available for attendees (download below). These should help refresh your memory and may be of use to conference attendees who weren’t able to attend the session.
